What 30 Electricians Learned at Boyne Mountain
By Alpha Omega Safety Solutions
Week of August 18, 2026
Two days.
Thirty electricians.
Gear in their hands.
Before this week gets rolling — a look back at a great couple of days of hands-on training with JC Electric and the Boyne Mountain electricians. Here’s what the crews worked through.

Transformers & safe padmount operations
Tuesday focused on transformer switching, phasing, grounding, and safe padmount operations — the sequence-and-verify habits that keep a crew out of trouble before a single cabinet door opens.
Full arc-flash PPE on the padmount training unit — no oil, not energized, everything else exactly like the real thing.

30 electricians, a 3M rep, and live cable work
Wednesday brought 30 electricians together with a 3M representative to get hands-on with primary cable elbows, outdoor terminations, and splicing — product knowledge straight from the manufacturer, practiced on the bench instead of read off a slide.
Day two: the full group with cable, elbows and splicing tools on the bench.
Crews don’t build confidence from a slide deck. They build it with the same gear they’ll have in their hands on the next job.
